Caritas Sofia is a charity organisation founded in 1993, with a mission to support vulnerable groups of people. Their mobile team operates at key locations in Sofia to provide daily assistance to the homeless and to people with alcohol and drug addictions.
The mobile centre offers: primary medical care, anonymous and free of charge medical tests for blood transmissible infections and tuberculosis, assistance for issuing personal documents, information on therapeutic programs, social counselling and more.
Every day, dozens of people in need come to the Caritas mobile centre and the team needs a large number of supplies to meet basic necessities. You can support their work by donating:
- sterile and non-sterile gauze;
- bandage, adhesive tape, cotton wool;
- wet wipes;
Packaged food and drinks
- instant coffee and tea;
- waffles, biscuits, chocolate;
- disposable plastic cups.
Why it matters?
The homeless people in Bulgaria are about 500 000, and in Sofia only - at least 100 000. Among them are people from all social and ethnic groups. Many of them are unable to meet their most basic human needs.
In the reality these people inhabit, every act of care is of great importance. Your support will provide access to resources that are extremely deficient in their lives.
An important part of being a mature society is the wider engagement of the majority with those who come from vulnerable groups. Very little is needed - if everyone who can afford it, gives a little something to a fellow in need, we can all live in a better place.
Donations are welcome throughout the year.

Once a mission you participate in ends, you can tell us how it went in a couple of sentences ("it was great" won't do).
It's simple: after the end we send you instructions - follow them. This way you earn points and rise in rank , others get inspired and we're all happy.
