What?

For over two decades now the ladies from the International Women's Club of Sofia have organized a big and colorful annual Christmas Charity Bazaar which connects nations and organizations for a good cause.

On 6 December 2015 the bazaar will once again bring together participants from about 50 nationalities who will proudly showcase (and sell!) their handmade crafts, music, souvenirs, folklore, national cuisine, clothing, literature, culture and tradition.

The funds they collect will support social projects across Bulgaria to meet the needs of the most marginalized groups in the country - especially, but not exclusively, women, the elderly, children deprived of parental care, people with mental or physical disadvantages, ethnic minorities, etc.

The 21st Christmas Charity Bazaar is now looking for volunteers to join its international team and help with the organization on 6 December, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.. The task are:

• assist some of the participants by selling their goods;
• collect trash from the halls during the event;
• hang and deliver back coats at the cloakrooms;
• help carry heavier stuff (e.g. chairs, tables, etc.)
• help clean the halls after the event.

Why?

You will literally meet the whole world, in the name of good.

Last year 1,500 volunteers joined efforts to make it happen. Participants at 66 stalls raised about BGN 320,000. The funds supported 23 projects all over the country that affected the lives of more than 2,500 people in need. That's what it's all about.

Transportation?

Volunteers are kindly asked to reach the venue individually. Public transportation options are described in detail here. If you come by car - free underground parking will be available during the bazaar.

Food?

Although some food may be provided, volunteers are advised to make also their own arrangements.
