What?

"Food Not War - Sofia" is the Bulgarian branch of the international pacifist movement for eco-social justice, Food Not Bombs. They cook warm and nutritious food together with people in need every week. Their secret recipe includes the most important spices: care, compassion, and supported self-empowerment.

To be part of the Solidarity Kitchen, simply join in the preparation and distribution of goodies on Sundays.

In addition to the cooking process, you can gradually get involved in the fight against food waste by collecting and transporting donations from markets, restaurants, bakeries, etc. You can also participate in the "Be an Urban Gardener" mission, which involves growing vegetables and composting to support the Solidarity Kitchen.

When?

Cooking: 10 am - 1 pm Meeting to discuss and make decisions on matters of general importance: 1 pm - 2 pm Sharing a meal: 2 pm - 3 pm

The actions take place every Sunday at the Solidarity Club in kv. Levski B, ul. "560th" № 36 in Sofia.

Why should I participate?

"Food, Not War" is a movement of self-organised collectives worldwide who believe that ordinary people can and must take matters into their own hands, as there is no one else and there shouldn't be.

Required equipment?

An apron and gloves are helpful. If possible, bring your health insurance booklet.

Required skills?

Having good communication skills and the ability to interact naturally is an advantage.

Will I be offered food?

The cooked food is shared with the entire team.

Health risks?

As you will be working with people from at-risk groups, paying attention to personal hygiene is extremely important. Please bring your own gloves.
